The Neighborhood Garden Project, implemented by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which holds the title of "Women-Friendly City," aims to support the participation of women in production, increase access to healthy food, and strengthen community awareness in neighborhoods. Within the scope of the project, garden plots are allocated to women living in the Konak - Kadifekale, Buca - Mustafa Kemal, and Bornova - Meriç neighborhoods for annual use; seedlings, fertilizers, and agricultural support are provided throughout the production process. Neighborhood Gardens also serve as meeting points for healthy food production and social solidarity. Good agricultural practices are encouraged in the gardens, and pesticide-free and fair production is supported. Harvest festivals, cultural and ecological events transform the gardens into social spaces where women and children come together.
