The Mediterranean Languages Center was established in 2020 by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, based on Izmir's identity as a port city and its historical heritage, with the vision of making the city one of the leading cities in the Mediterranean basin. This center operates with the aim of investing in the city's human resources and providing high-quality foreign language education to the people of Izmir. Operating in collaboration with Ankara University TÖMER (Turkish Language Teaching Center), the Mediterranean Languages Center offers language training in accordance with the European Language Portfolio standards. The center continues its work with the understanding of providing quality and accessible foreign language education to the people of Izmir.
